Chapter 306: Don’t Push Me Away From Now On
Jiang Xiaoli did not notice a cold gaze secretly staring at her.
Chi Jiao stood at the corner of the corridor with a cup of hot milk in her hand. As she looked at Jiang Xiaoli sitting at the door, a cold smile appeared on her soft and sweet face.
Originally, her main mission in this life was to accompany Brother Quan. If she could avoid trouble, she really would avoid it.
Well…
But someone just had to court death.
How Interesting.
Jiang Xiaoli didn’t notice Chi Jiao’s gaze at all. She sat in front of the door for two minutes until she recovered some strength. Then, she got up and staggered towards the guest room.
After Jiang Xiaoli’s footsteps faded away, Chi Jiao walked to Quan Jue’s door and knocked.
The darkness in her eyes disappeared, replaced by a soft, sweet smile.
Lying on the bed, Quan Jue heard the knocking again and frowned impatiently.
He thought it was still Jiang Xiaoli.
Quan Jue got up and walked to the door. When he opened it with a look of annoyance, he saw Chi Jiao holding a cup of hot milk.
The impatience on his face had yet to be retracted. Coupled with his surprised gaze, this was the first time the young man had such an adorable conflicted expression.
Chi Jiao looked up at him and couldn’t help but laugh. She handed him the cup. “Brother Quan, have a cup of warm milk. It’ll be easier for you to fall asleep.”
Quan Jue took the cup with one hand and pulled her into his room with the other.
After closing the door, Quan Jue placed the cup on the cabinet in the entryway. With one hand on the door, he trapped the girl between it and him.
“You’re not angry?” The young man’s hushed voice was unmistakable.
Chi Jiao frowned slightly and looked at him in confusion. “Why would I be angry?”
She had just finished speaking when she fell into a warm embrace.
Quan Jue hugged Chi Jiao tightly and buried his face in her neck. “My tone was a little harsh earlier. Actually, I’m angry at myself for not being able to protect you.”
On this trip back with Jiaojiao, he began to feel that she was a thousand times better than he had imagined.
This made him want to prove himself in front of her even more.
Chi Jiao wrapped her arms around his waist and smiled. “Brother Quan, we’re still students. We shouldn’t be so worried in the first place. It’s good to have adults helping us to fix problems.”
She just felt that there was no need for Quan Jue to be involved in those things. Now that she had gotten to where she was, she might as well not be the boss if she still had to do everything herself.
She only wanted to have a sweet and beautiful relationship with her Brother Quan.
Chi Jiao’s words made sense, but Quan Jue did not think so.
He tightened his grip on her. “Don’t make me feel useless.”
Chi Jiao immediately understood his words. “Nonsense! Brother Quan is omnipotent in my heart.”
“Then don’t push me away again,” Quan Jue whispered.
Chi Jiao nodded obediently.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning roared in the sky. The loud sound made Chi Jiao tremble uncontrollably.
Quan Jue patted her back comfortingly. “Are you afraid of thunder?”
“I’m not afraid,” Chi Jiao said, but when she heard the thunder outside again, she shrank back into his arms.
