Chapter 154: They Could Only Hope That Chi Jiao Would Forgive Them When the Time Came
Chi Yan didn’t give him a chance to speak. After saying everything she had wanted to say, she immediately hung up.
Lan Yunhan’s heart instantly hit rock bottom as he felt a chill from head to toe.
Lan Qingquan didn’t hear what Chi Yan had said on the phone, but when he saw Lan Yunhan’s expression, he knew that Chi Yan definitely didn’t say anything good.
He had always felt that Chi Yan was a scheming girl and not a good person.
He had tried to persuade Lan Yunhan before, but this disappointing thing refused to listen to him.
“Come with me to the Chi household tomorrow and apologize to Chi Jiao personally.” Lan Qingquan felt that the only way to remedy the situation now was to apologize to Chi Jiao and beg for her forgiveness.
He didn’t know where that girl got her abilities from. Not only did she ruin Lan Yunhan’s reputation, but she also destroyed the Lan family.
They could only hope that Chi Jiao would forgive them when the time came.
Lan Yunhan knew that this was the only path they could take now.
From the moment his and Chi Yan’s relationship was completely exposed, he had used all his public relations efforts but to no avail. He could vaguely guess that the person supporting Chi Jiao was someone their family couldn’t afford to offend.
“Alright, I’ll accompany you,” Lan Yunhan said slowly.
The night gradually deepened. The pitch-black sky was like a huge black screen covered in stars.
After dinner, Jiang Ming consciously went to wash the dishes.
Quan Jue accompanied Chi Jiao as they played aeroplane chess.
Chi Jiao’s phone vibrated. She continued to stare at the chessboard as she took out her phone to answer the call.
“Jiaojiao, why aren’t you back yet?” Chi Mingwei’s gentle voice came through the phone.
Chi Jiao looked at her watch subconsciously and saw it was already 10:00 PM.
She had promised her father that she would go home early.
“I just had dinner. I’m planning to go home now,” Chi Jiao said softly.
“Do you need Daddy to pick you up?” Chi Mingwei asked considerately.
“No need, Daddy. I can take a taxi,” Chi Jiao said with a smile.
“Okay, then Daddy will wait for you at home.” Chi Mingwei felt that Quan Jue would probably send her home. Although he was helpless, there was really nothing he could do about Jiaojiao.
When she hung up, Quan Jue asked, “Your father called?”
Chi Jiao nodded.
Quan Jue put down the chess piece and stood up. “Let’s go. I’ll send you back.”
Chi Jiao watched as he walked to the door and took off the down jacket hanging on the clothes hanger. She then grabbed her school bag from the sofa and walked over.
Quan Jue personally helped Chi Jiao put on her down jacket and hat. After making sure that she wouldn’t be chilly, he took her school bag.
Chi Jiao was very willing to let Quan Jue do this for her. From the beginning to the end, she had been looking up at him with a reliant expression on her face.
After packing up, Quan Jue opened the door and walked out with her.
“Brother Quan, I can go back by myself.” When Chi Jiao thought about how he would have to return by himself after sending her back, she felt that it was too troublesome for him.
She could go back by herself.
Quan Jue looked at her and asked meaningfully, “What if you encounter a bad person?”
Chi Jiao tilted her head in thought.
If she met a bad person, of course she would beat the crap out of him.
However, she naturally couldn’t say that to him.
“I can call the police for help,” Chi Jiao said with a smile.
Quan Jue huffed and ruffled her hair. “You have me, so don’t bother the police.”
They chatted and laughed as they walked down the street to flag down a cab.
Jiang Ming stood at the kitchen window, watching their backs with a little envy.
He could feel that the little girl really liked Quan Jue.
He hoped that her existence wouldn’t be known by the Quan family so quickly.
Otherwise, she would be in danger as well.
