Chapter 2237 - Green Caeli
Chapter 2237 - Green Caeli
Right as Tianming was about to say that it was harder to break than Grandvoid Compendium's Delayed Capture, he suddenly remembered that he was wearing an Oldgod Ring. The skeleton might actually be a useful treasure, so he immediately shut up to prevent being overheard.
"Sis, hush."
"Whatāre you doing?" Lin Lele asked blankly.
"Well, you know...." He winked at her, hinting for her to block the field of vision of the rings so that others couldn't see them.
"What do I know? Are you trying to get the entirety of Ebonia to look at you?" she said.
"Of course not! Sis! I have undergarments under here, alright? My wives bought it for me! They're made from knitting together the finest divine herbs!"
It took Tianming a few more hints for her to understand him and block the rings. After that, they no longer spoke and merely communicated with glances.
Back when Tianming had been acquiring the Grandvoid Compendium inside the Swordsoul Purgatory, heād laid flat on the stele to protect himself. While Li Muyang had told him that Ebonia was safe, he felt like it would be best if he was careful whenever he was in a situation where he could be seen by anyone in this world.
Since the legacy formation was a lock, what was it keeping secured? Both of them were curious about what it held. Lin Lele didn't hold back and felt up the skeleton as much as she could. After a good, long while, she helplessly sighed.
"What in the world is this thing? It's nothing like the ancestral guidance steles. Those were made by our ancestors with the purpose of passing on their legacies if we can break their sword barriers, but this one does nothing at all." She couldn't even find any kind of 'in' she could use. "Brother, don't waste time on this thing anymore. Let's just bring it back to the Infinitum Swordsea for your grandparents to study."
Lin Lele had thought that Tianming wouldn't be able to make anything of it, like her, only to find that Tianming had begun hovering. He put his right hand that was wearing the Oldgod Ring behind his back and opened his left hand, pressing it against the face of the skeleton with one finger in each of the orifices of the eyes, ears, and mouth.
"There you go with your silly posing again!" Lin Lele rolled her eyes. But right as she was about to pull him down, she noticed that his eyes were closed and he seemed to have entered a dreamlike state. The tiny green fish around the bones passed through his black arm and entered his body. His white hair looked like a boundless grassy plain!
"The greenness of this thing is really giving me bad vibes. Lin Feng, looks like you have a cuckold fetish of sorts, eh?" she said, shocked. She got closer to take a look, but she wasn't able to make anything out of it.
"Can he solve this legacy formation? Is he doing it now, or has he already finished it?" Since she didn't know what was going on, she continued observing him for quite some time, doubtful. "Forget it. This kidās always been hard to get. I just have to make sure he's safe, since Grandpa asked me to protect him."
She went to the entrance of the cavern to keep watch for him. The members of Lin Xiongās line were all upstanding fellows. Tianming, however, wasn't the least bit worried, since he had Yin Chen monitoring the surroundings. Should someone approach, it would make itself visible to draw people away from him.
......
"The Sky Plundering Hand is truly amazing..." Tianming couldn't help but voice his thoughts even in his deep meditation. The power of his black arm was truly without rival. The lock on the skeleton was completely sealed, in the sense that there might not even be a key for it. Thus, he believed that not even orderans or cosmic cartographers would be able to unlock the internal component of the green skeleton. If they destroyed it by accident, its secrets would be even harder to recover!
Sky plunderers, however, were a completely different breed. The moment Tianming had stuck his fingers in and peeked with the Sky Plundering Eye, an emerald-green astral object had appeared in his field of vision. It looked like a gigantic gem with countless divine celestial patterns swimming around like fish, forming layer after layer of barriers. He wasn't able to tell how many layers there were quite yet.
"It took me a month to break through the ancestral guidance stone of the Grandvoid Swordfiend... I hope this won't take me as long."
With the Sky Plundering Hand, there was no need for any key at all. His hexagonal-scaled fingers stretched deep into the gem, then his fingers wriggled as they let out a faint glow before blending in with the lock, causing it to give way to a gap.
"That's one layer. More...." It might have been sealed for far too long, as Tianming felt that he was making quite a lot of progress in a short time. After some ten days, he had finally broken through five hundred barriers of the emerald.
"So the crystal walls are tougher than the sword barriers of the Grandvoid Compendium. It doesn't even have a sword intent that serves as a key. That means that the only one in Ebonia that could've opened it is me!" He was in a bit of an excited mood. What in the world could be inside? When an opening appeared in the final barrier, Tianming stretched his arm into it and found himself in a new, expansive world.
"Huh?" He was completely floored. There were many legacy caeli before him. Like green stars, they hung high in the sky. There were around a thousand of them.
"Caeli?!" Why would a skeleton contain a world that stored caeli like the Caeli Vault? "What level are these caeli? Since all of them contain the cultivation memories of those they belonged to, I'll be able to see what they looked like!"
He stretched his hand toward one of the green caeli, only to be shocked to find that it was larger than the caeli in the seventh level of the Caeli Vault when he approached it! "The caeli in the seventh level belong to seniors that were in the council, yet these are larger than those?"
Still shaken, he put his black arm on the shining green caelum. He no longer hesitated and let the scenes wash over his eyes. Green light enveloped his entire body; it was so bright that he could only slowly open his eyes, but he could already hear quite a commotion. It was a chaotic scene that had taken place not long after the death of the caelum's owner, which usually subsided after a while as he made his way toward the order, but this time around, that didn't happen.
