Lex was not any stupider than Saleen. It was just that she had not had a real childhood, hence she felt distant when toys were used as an analogy. However, she immediately understood the meaning when Saleen explained it to her.
The creatures in this interdimensional space seemed to have been manmade. The interdimensional space was desolate, and there was no day or night. Also, the volcano erupted from time to time, causing the sky to be permanently overcast. A person’s psychological state would be adversely affected in such an environment, and this mage, who had been a grade higher than Grade 7, had possessed abnormally high expectations for all of these disappoints.
Mages always chose the location of their magic towers very meticulously. Firstly, a magic tower needed to be near a town so that it would be convenient for the disciples to purchase necessities. Secondly, a magic tower needed to be built in an environment that was abundant in elements. That way, the mage could save on materials and perishables. Lastly, the mage needed to like the environment. Whether it be the city or the wilderness, the environment needed to match the emotional state of the mage in order for them to train.
Obviously, the Grade 10 mage had not had much of a choice in this interdimensional space. There were no cities here, and the people in the village at the foot of the mountain must have been brought here by the mage. From the looks of the village, there were at most hundreds of people living in the village.
The environment of the wilderness was harsh. The volcanic region was just beyond the forest, and Lex had not gone to investigate the other side, but it must not have been too good. Without the sun and the moon, there would be no seasons and no day and night, causing the interdimensional space to be dreary.
Indeed, the world inside this metallic cheese could have cheered people up. At least this place had a high degree of resemblance to the Myers Mainland.
When Lex finally understood the concept, she said, “I have finally understood why we can’t seem to get out. There’s a connection between the outside and here. The six magic arrays need to be activated, and then we can leave at anytime. But…”
There were six magic arrays surrounding the metallic column. However, the magic nuclei in the grooves of the magic arrays had been depleted. Now, the only function of those magic arrays was to stabilize the space in the eighth story. If they wanted to leave, they would need to restart the magic arrays.
“Nailisi will think of something,” Saleen said calmly. He understood the crux of the situation when he heard Lex’s solution. This world had not been produced to trap enemies inside of it. It was an evaluation site. The mage who had created this place would not have wanted to destroy the structure of the metallic cheese whenever they wanted to leave, so they would definitely have left a channel for entering and exiting.
“Nailisi?” Lex asked doubtfully. She had observed Nailisi closely. That girl was not a mage, but she could use spatial equipment. The problem was, how would Nailisi know that she would need to fuse magic nuclei into the magic arrays?
Saleen did not reply. He could not confirm whether Nailisi could hear him calling out to her in his heart. The connection between Nailisi and the soul bond had become more intimate after her advancement, but it had not reached the level of soul communication. Saleen and Nailisi could feel emotional changes in each other, including the happiness and pain in their souls, and some vague thoughts. What Saleen was hoping for right now was that Nailisi was intelligent enough to know what to do.
He only need to transmit two phrases to Nailisi – magic array and magic nucleus. However, the method of transmission was troublesome. Saleen’s soul connection with Nailisi was already very frail. Additionally, it would not be useful to repeatedly send vague messages, thus the safest method would be to use pain.
Saleen took out his clan badge. He thought, If this doesn’t work, then I can only wait for Nailisi to have an epiphany.
Outside the eighth story, Sika kept caressing her bone necklace, thinking of how she could continue the legacy of the war priests. Nailisi suddenly sat upright, and her green eyes flickered.
She could feel Saleen trying to initiate contact with her, and this method was excruciating. Her brain felt as though there were needles continuously piercing it, and there were several messages constantly jumping about.
Nailisi grit her teeth and extended her finger. Then, she carved a few symbols on the ground.
The pain then suddenly disappeared, and Nailisi relaxed. Those symbols were a secret magic language. A mage used it when they wanted to record obscure information.
Every mage created their own unique secret magic language, but Nailisi did not need so much magic knowledge. She cast her gaze on the magic arrays which surrounded the metallic column.
Magic array? Magic nucleus? Did Master want me to activate these six magic arrays?
Nailisi’s knowledge of magic was painfully scant, but she knew how to fuse magic nuclei, and she could cut the embryo of a magic nucleus. But what if her understanding was incorrect? Nailisi looked at the magic arrays and hesitated.
She looked at the secret magic language on the ground. It was too simple, and there were no redundant messages. In fact, Saleen could not even transmit too many messages. The arrangement of this message had been from Saleen’s memory. He had relayed a scene from when he had first met Nailisi.
The magic array from the temple, and the magic nucleus that she had eaten.
“Nailisi, what are you doing?” Sika asked nervously, taking out a bundle of beast skins.
“Master wants me to activate the magic arrays. Come give me a hand.”
“Help with what?” Sika put away her weapon. She had been anxious all this time, and now that Nailisi said that Saleen had relayed a message, she would accede to Nailisi’s request even though she detested Nailisi.
“Cut up some skins and tie them to make a rope. The thicker the rope, the better.”
When Sika heard that, she immediately understood what was going on. Nailisi was going to fuse the magic nuclei, and she did not want to get sucked into the metallic column. Hence, using the rope to hold Nailisi back would be the simplest method.
Sika did not waste any more time talking. She took out her boomerang and the beast skins and began cutting away. Meanwhile, Nailisi took out several magic nuclei from her bracelet, and used her teeth to cut the magic nuclei.
On the first story of the magic tower, Saleen had managed to get a large amount of high-quality magic nuclei. The only problem was that those magic nuclei were unrefined.
Only the magic nuclei of some special creatures had natural facets. One example was those from the dragon family, as their magic nuclei came with twenty-four sides. As for the rest of the magic beasts, the shape of their magic nuclei was irregular no matter their level. In order to use magic nuclei like that, the magic nuclei needed to be cut and polished in order to be fused with a magic array.
Presently, Nailisi’s teeth were sharper than ever, so it was a straightforward task for her cut out a magic nucleus with twenty-four sides. As she bit down continuously, a sense of achievement suddenly welled up inside of her. I am going to save my master. That means he won’t distance himself from me anymore in the future, right?
The thoughts of humans were strange. Even though Nailisi had established a subtle soul connection with Saleen, she still could not decipher Saleen’s thoughts. Saleen seemed to be interested in Sika, and yet, he did not mate with Sika like a demon would have. Nailisi felt that even if Saleen forced himself on Sika, Sika would not be offended either way.
If Saleen had been a demon, he would have been the least cunning of them all. In the demonic realm, when two demons developed an attraction for each other, they would start a family. Once they had offspring, the family would stabilize. Sika looked to be at the peak of health, and Saleen was also stronger than the average human.
After multiple occasions of sexual intercourse, they would be able to produce offspring to carry on the bloodline. My master won’t even do such great things. It’s really worrying.
As Nailisi thought to herself and cut the magic nuclei, she looked at Sika.
Nailisi knew how strong Sika could be when enraged. She simply lacked endurance. Sika was bent down, carefully using her boomerang to cut the beast skins that were spread out in front of her. Cutting the skins of beasts was a task that required skill. The skin was tough and its texture was intricate. In order to make the skin strong throughout, one’s hands needed to be deft.
Fortunately, Sika was from Caucasus, so she was used to doing tasks like these. Sika paid close attention and patiently cut the skins. Sika bent her waist, causing her buttocks to tilt and form a mesmerizing arc. Since she had fought from the time she was young, the structure of Sika’s body had become abnormally perfect. It was not just human beauty. It was a kind of beauty that abided by the sequences of nature.
Sika’s limbs and body were in a harmonious ratio. Her bones were in good proportion and the amount of muscle she had was just right. All these things enabled her to be able to swiftly explode with tremendous strength whenever she needed it. At this point, Sika’s body proportions were very similar to that of Nailisi’s. It was just that Sika lacked a tail and her butt was slightly bigger.
Ka cha…
Nailisi continued biting on the magic nuclei while thinking of ways to help Saleen rape Sika. If Sika gave birth to a son, Saleen’s family would be stable. Then, Nailisi could take care of the child and teach him how to become a demon. As long as she fed him a mouthful of demon’s blood, then…
Nailisi felt some memories pour out. It was something from the bloodline of demons.
Of course, Sika was unaware of the evil thoughts that Nailisi was harboring about her. Sika cut eighteen beast skins before putting away her boomerang and weaving the rope. Weaving rope was a task that required knowledge. The Caucasus people had a weapon called the flying axe. A genuine flying axe was astonishingly heavy, and there was a rope attached to the end of it. It was one of the Caucasus people’s favorite weapons.
Sika’s strength was still inadequate, so she could only use a boomerang for now. But she had learned the technique for weaving rope when she was young.
After about an hour, Sika had weaved a rope that was even thicker than her wrist. Even though the rope had never undergone reinforcement, its strength was already astounding. Nailisi looked about, then she attached one end of the rope to a stone pillar in the mezzanine’s passageway and the other to her own waist.
“Sika.”
“Mm.”
“Control the distance. If I lose my balance, just pull me back with all your strength.”
“Got it.” Sika placed her boomerang back into its sheath. Presently, she needed to rescue Saleen, so she would let Nailisi order her around just this once.
Nailisi removed her shoes. She would have Sika assist her as a precaution. In truth, Nailisi had thought of a solution long ago. The ground of the hall had been made from rock so it was very tough. If she had not needed to fuse the magic nuclei with the magic arrays, then she would not have had to be so cautious.
A pair of delicate white feet stepped into the hall. All of a sudden, the metallic pillar in the center of the hall burst with strong suctioning force. Nailisi’s body shook violently, and her toenails dug deep into the stone ground. Sika watched from outside the door with her heart in her throat.
Nailisi walked towards the magic arrays. Her clothes had expanded and were shaking violently. There was a clear scratch mark on the ground beneath Nailisi. Using both hands, Nailisi pulled at her clothes, causing her clothes to be shred into pieces and thrown through midair before they were sucked into the metallic column.
