None of the elemental creatures had any concerns for their own safety. Creatures without souls acted solely on their instincts. The reason Saleen was able to capture them so easily was because there were no special magic patterns found within the creatures’ internal structures.

They were still under the ancient humans’ control, protecting a place that was devoid of any humans.

The elemental creatures took Saleen for an enemy when Saleen put the badge that Grandmaster gave him and did not bother using the astrologer’s key. The creatures would not run even if they knew they were no match with the intruder.

Nailisi opened the purgatory of the fallen and had Saleen stand in the area controlled by the Shackles of the Fallen. The Angel of Brightness broke through the puppets’ hold and came before Saleen, but any attacks were shot down by 24 chains of the Shackles of the Fallen.

A level ten Angel of Brightness was capable of a powerful skill: Cleansing Light.

The ‘cleansing’ part of the spell’s name differed entirely from divine spells. Cleansing Light consisted of high temperatures created using light element, which was incapable of being blocked by any skill.

However, the version of Cleansing Light used now was blocked by the Shackles of the Fallen. That Angel of Brightness saw no other choice but to close in on Saleen and attack him using an elemental sword.

Nailisi was elated. The area of effect of the Shackles of the Fallen was extremely limited. If the Angel of Brightness continued attacking from a distance, there was nothing she could do. The 12 Notes of First Purgatory was incapable of moving when opened.

The elemental sword tore through the darkness and was about to hit Saleen, when 24 chains coiled around the Angel of Brightness, trapping it.

Nailisi was incapable of laughing out loud in water. She was only capable of expressing her excitement by whipping the Angel of Brightness after trapping it. She was too a level ten creature, and the feeling of being able to capture a level ten elemental creature using her existing equipment was exhilarating.

“Alright, cut it out, Nailisi.” Saleen began to seal the Angel of Brightness trapped by the Shackles of the Fallen using a scroll. He put up a Water Shield just to allow Nailisi to laugh for a bit, preventing her excitement from being pent up.

The Water Shield encased Nailisi and she only laughed when there was air around.

“Master, any elemental creature we catch around here will work far better than any magic nucleus. A low level elemental creature could work far better than magic nucleus over level ten when thrown into a magic power furnace!”

“What the hell do you know?” Saleen berated Nailisi. “Teacher would definitely have better ways of absorbing and converting the energy of the elemental creatures. Throwing them into magic power furnaces would destroy them. The most precious part of the elemental creatures lie with the regenerative abilities. Only idiots would use them like magic nuclei.”

“Master, what I meant was that if we threw an elemental creature into the magic power furnace, the burst of power would activate every single attribute of the furnace. They would come in handy in desperate times.”

“You have a point, but any elemental creatures above level nine will begin to develop intelligence, so don’t ever do that. It would be fine if you captured some below level eight.”

Mages often dissected magic beasts to extract their magic nuclei. They even dissected one of their own. However, it was done at the lowest requirement. No mage would resort to such brutal measures to deal with intelligent life unless they were enemies.

Being thrown into a magic power furnace would be far more excruciating than being thrown into purgatory through divine punishment to an intelligent lifeform.

Beings devoid of souls would fare better, as they would die more quickly. However, powerful beings with souls would have to suffer for a very long time when thrown into a magic power furnace.

“Yes, master.” Nailisi was happy. She had a piece of equipment that originally had not been able to be completed. Only a devil on the demon plane could craft it.

However, she gained a miniature magic power furnace’s schematics and it would allow her wish of getting a devil’s equipment to come true.

The problem was that devil’s equipment had a costly consumption. Even with a magic power furnace, Nailisi could not simply borrow Saleen’s name to take huge amounts of magic nuclei from the warehouses. She had to solve the energy source problem on her own, so the huge amounts of elemental creatures within the city became Nailisi’s target.

Saleen’s mental powers were exhausted after capturing six level ten Angels of Brightness. All of his targets were level ten creatures and he had been using level 11 scrolls, both of which took a toll on his mental powers.

“Nailisi, go out and catch your elemental creatures. I’m going to craft equipment here with Teacher using them. You have one week. If you’re not back after a week, you’re on your own.”

“Got it, Master. I go by myself this time.” Nailisi was afraid that Saleen would tell her to take someone else with her, as she did not want to babysit anyone.

While Sul might have been a golden grand swordmaster, in the environment at the bottom at the ocean, she would not concern herself with Sul even if she was still at level nine.

“Get out here already.” Saleen shooed Nailisi away. She put her collection of purgatories away and ventured out to the west side of the city alone. Saleen had headed east the first two times he was there, before heading north.

Nailisi chose somewhere unfamiliar instead. The Imperial City of the Abyss was so big that it could be a nation on its own. There were still many places in the city that Saleen had yet to explore, and there were all very dangerous.

Saleen was totally uninterested in any enticements involving ruins. He had only been searching for the temples to hog all the luck that the Goddess of Myers had left behind for herself. Destroying the temples was simply minimize the luck left behind.

Saleen was a mage and he knew that the more he got from the goddess, the higher the price he had to pay.

Nailisi took her devil form and unleashed several demons to serve as bait. The few unlucky demons lacked powers and intelligence. They were forced to accept their fates under the pressure of Nailisi’s devil form.

Elemental creatures continued to emerge to attack the demons and Nailisi snatched them up with the net that Saleen had given her. She did not care for the types or elemental attributes. She had not lied to Saleen as she fully intended to use low level elemental creatures as fuel for her magic power furnace.

The lower the level of the elemental creatures, the easier it was to capture them. Nailisi was only catching them using one hand and it actually turned the elemental creatures squishy. Their fates were totally up to Nailisi.

There had always been an abundance of low level elemental creatures in the Imperial City of the Abyss, and she threw any that she happened to capture into the purgatory of elements to replenish the space of the purgatory.

The Eye of the Storm and the great fire snake had both been slowly subjugated by Nailisi, but they continued to fight each other for supremacy and control of the space.

The creatures paid no heed to the elemental creatures that Nailisi threw into the purgatory. They were lacking in level and were hardly worthy of notice.

It was only when Nailisi opened a portal and ordered both of them to help capture elemental creatures outside that they reluctantly stopped fighting and began bringing out their unique skills.

The portal was disguised by the two powerful elemental beings into an elemental gate. Every single elemental creature within a hundred mile radius was able to sense the gate and all flocked there in a frenzy.

As soon as the elemental creatures barged through the portal, there was no way for them to leave. The great fire snake and the Eye of the Storm trapped them all in the purgatory of elements and awaited her orders.

There were occasionally level 10 elemental creatures falling into the trap. However, Nailisi needed to deal with the level ten beings personally, attacking them with the Sword of Rules and Grey Memory, weakening them before kicking them into the portal proper.

There was no longer need for demons to serve as bait. The elemental creatures charged in droves, mistaking the gate as the path to a new life.

Once an elemental creature entered an elemental gate, it was as if they have been baptized and there could be a chance of souls being born within it.

Once an elemental creature possessed a soul, it would be able to break through the limit of level nine, enabling them to grow further and expand their lives.

It would be a mistake to think that elemental creatures lived forever, as not even gods were capable of such a feat. Many low level elemental creatures were not even capable of living for more than a day. Elemental creatures that were born at dawn and died at dusk were literally everywhere.

Nailisi had initially gone out to capture elemental creatures to provide fuel for her magic power furnace. As more and more elemental creatures charged into the purgatory of elements, it had actually began to metamorphose.

The rules of the purgatory of elements had never been complete, as there had only been fire and wind elements in it.

However, the low level elemental creatures actually completed the rules bit by bit. The six major elements worked in tandem and against each other, developing into a cycle and converting into one another.

Nailisi was elated. Saleen had given her a week, which was more than enough to capture ample elemental creatures to form a perfect framework for the purgatory of elements. As to when it could be truly completed, it would be a matter of luck.

Nailisi, who was still in her devil form, continued heading eastward. She stopped after running for 200 miles and opened up the purgatory of elements again, having the two powerful beings to help her bait more elemental creatures into the purgatory.

Nailisi continued capturing elemental creatures without any reservations, enabling her to have venture as far as 5000 miles in just three days. The purgatory of elements was filled by low level elemental creatures, and they began to tear and devour each other, keeping the purgatory of elements from being so full that it would break.

Nailisi intended to venture further for two days. She did not go quickly so that she was able to capture more elemental creatures. If she rushed, she was confident in being able to return to Saleen within a single day.

Nailisi’s flight was fast enough to barely able to keep up with Saleen. Furthermore, she had several forms that she could use interchangeably, enabling her to continue on her return journey without stopping.

A red flare suddenly shot up high and lit up the ground for over a thousand miles, from the central area of the Imperial City of the Abyss, about a thousand miles away from Nailisi, when she was still having fun capturing elemental creatures.

“Who was it? Who was it that took my soldiers?” the voice roared in anger. Its voice heard over a thousand miles away, reaching Nailisi’s ears.
