The Black Angels of Repentance, armed with black longswords, surrounded Sika. The blades were serrated, and pale light coursed through the serrations.
Sika swept at them with her staff without moving her body, swatting the angels who closed in on her. The fifth head inquisitor was incredibly frustrated, but he was unable to do anything else.
The parts of the angels that were hit by Sika’s staff were quickly reduced to dust, like the pests in the Imperial City of the Abyss.
The scattered parts would regroup and heal. Sika was frighteningly fast at attacking, so much so that none of the angels was able to get near her.
With the spikes on Sika’s staff extended, the wounded parts of the angels turned paler every time, with their energies behind swallowed by the staff with every single strike.
The center of the battlefield was where the two head inquisitors lay. The crystal ball in the sixth head inquisitor’s hand was the key. About a hundred holy masters behind the two prayed in low voices, providing power to the two head inquisitors.
What was more surprising was that the soldiers in red armor were actually able to fight the ancient figures toe to toe.
Most of the soldiers were right outside, chanting the language of the gods loudly. Only several hundred of the 10,000 were actually fighting at the forts.
Red sheen burst out every single one, and every soldier had at least 30 of their own praying for them to serve as backing, increasing their powers by more than a dozen-fold.
The warriors praying outside had incredibly low defensive capacity. If they were to be ambushed, massive casualties would occur. However, the tide was in the Tribunal’s favor.
The remaining punishers were still fighting the ancient figures. Daliang City had no way out of it for the time being.
Saleen was incredibly frustrated. He was unable to summon his elemental creatures or his ancient figures. The only equipment that would have gave him an edge was the Thunder Dragon Blaster. He could not help but break the blaster out, coiling it around his arm and pointing it at the sixth head inquisitor.
The crystal ball on the sixth head inquisitor’s hand detected the incoming danger, casting ring-shaped waves and creating a huge portal. A huge white ape jumped out from nowhere. The only thing known about it was that it was a creature of the gods.
The ape was only about a dozen meters tall, short compared to elemental creatures. Its white fur was about a meter long. The fur billowed in the wind, casting divine light of the Lord of Glory. The white ape bared its fangs and charged at Saleen.
Saleen cursed his luck and changed the manner of attack with his blaster. He intended to fire all six icicles at the sixth head inquisitor to get them out of the pinch, yet with the creature of the gods unleashed, he was forced to deal with that danger first.
The fifth head inquisitor also took out an over-three-meter crystal scepter and chanted the prose of the gods. Divine light came from the scepter, slowly healing the damages suffered by the Angels of Repentance, maintaining the lockdown on Sika.
Sika kept throwing javelins and all of them were taken down by the angels. She was almost incapable of moving her legs. The angels did not bother to defend and simply chopped away with their weapons.
The fifth head inquisitor gave everything he got. Even if he ended up killing Sika, the damages suffered by the angels would be difficult to repair and they would all end up as broken goods.
That equipment would enable him to stop the advance of a great army. He had never seen a warrior of enough ferocity to take on 24 Angels of Repentance all on her own.
Saleen’s lightning icicle shot at the white ape’s heart, which sent it writhing on the ground. The sixth head inquisitor broke out in a cold sweat. While the white ape was only a level nine creature, it was composed of pure energy. However, it behaved like just another magic beast of flesh and blood.
The rules of lightning within the Thunder Dragon Blaster caused havoc on the internal systems of the creature, as if it actually had a heart that was then being destroyed. The ape dissipated in streaks of light, scattering in the Divine Territory.
Gusion jumped into the fray with the flag in his hand, helping Sika take out the angels. The sixth head inquisitor’s crystal ball opened yet another portal.
Another creature of the gods appeared and this time, it was a true angel holding a Sword of Glory. However, it was targeted by Saleen’s lightning icicle the second it emerged.
Saleen was incredibly frustrated. Within the Divine Territory, their enemies had no problem summoning anything while he was limited to six uses of the lightning icicles. The six Blue Ice Maidens had shrunk. Without them, Saleen would not be even able to maintain the mist around him.
Boom!
A huge sound of collision came from his right. What Saleen had been worried about finally happened. A young, lithe girl with billowing robe flew out of the sealed hole, punching a human-sized hole in the three meter-thick wall.
“Run!” Saleen had no intention to fight anyone anymore. All six of the Blue Ice Maidens shrunk to barely taller than two meters. The water element within the elemental creatures were sucked out by Saleen’s large scale magic, unleashing hundreds of vortexes spinning up from the ground.
The spell covered the entire group of forts. Saleen had no energy left enough for complete control. Some of the ancient figures outside were caught by the vortexes and were sent flying into the air and torn to shreds.
Saleen had been preparing the large scale spell for a long time. His activation of the spell sent everyone around him flying into the air, thrown outside the control of the Divine Territory. Even Nailisi, who was writhing on the ground, was no exception.
She took to the air and turned into a devil, taking out her weapon once again.
The Skeleton King form was severely damaged. She was irked that she was unable to change forms within the vicinity of the Divine Territory. The weakness of the Skeleton King was so apparent that it almost cost her life. She would take any other form other than spirit.
After being thrown into the air and escaping the Divine Territory, the vortexes rose several hundred meters high before dissipating.
The large scale spell was derived from Quickcloud, and would have lasted just as long. However, within the Divine Territory, such large scale spells lasted for less than ten seconds before dissipating.
It was fortunate that all of Saleen’s group was able to escape the vicinity of the Divine Territory, sent flying far away.
It was the method that everyone agreed to. The fifth and sixth head inquisitor had not been anticipating something like that, with Saleen sacrificing six Blue Ice Maidens to escape.
They were, however, hardly to be blamed. A rumble that shook people’s minds came from the hole behind Jalin as she emerged. The fossilized gods chased after her.
With the dirt wall broken, there was no stopping the fossilized gods.
Jalin burst through the passages of the cemetery with light gashes on his face. She quickly took out a mask and put it on her face. The peach color of the mask was so pale that it was close to white. She had long sensed the power of the Divine Territory. The magic staff in her hand glittered with yellow light. With a few leaps, she escaped the army of the Tribunal, going outside the vicinity of the Divine Territory.
Sika summoned her soul beast, and everyone stood on its back. They were able to see Jalin.
Sika asked Saleen, “Saleen, should we kill her right now?”
Saleen agreed with Sika wholeheartedly. However, he knew he was probably unable to keep up with the mage. Seeing how easily she was able to escape the Tribunal army, Saleen knew that her mystical movements were hardly affected. Or rather, Jalin’s huge magic staff provided her with huge earth elemental support.
“Jalin, come up here,” Saleen shouted.
Jalin looked up and saw the soul beast under Sika’s control. She hesitated for a bit before leaping into the air, taking a few jumps midair, before coming to face Saleen.
The Thunder Dragon Blaster was still coiled around Saleen’s arm. He kept his arms down and suppressed the raging anger inside him, before saying to Jalin, “Give me a good reason not to kill you.”
Jalin replied very calmly, “If it were you, would you have had given up the chance to enter the cemetery?”
“Saleen is talking about Daliang City being dragged into this mess because of you. I know you’re powerful, Jalin. So how about this, we go at each right here, right now. Whoever lives or dies, all up to how good we are,” Lex spoke.
She was hardly injured in the Divine Territory and hardly expended any powers. The defensive powers afforded by the God’s Ring was something not even Divine Punishment would be able to do anything about.
“Anything is up for trade, isn’t it? I’m willing to give everything I got down there and provide information on everything I know about the inside of the cemetery,” Jalin hardly flinched and did not agree to Lex’s challenge.
She knew if she were to kill Lex, her teacher would not let her off easily. If Lex actually dared move against her, the fight would have hardly been considered fair.
Sika lifted her staff without any warning and brought it down hard on Jalin. She hurriedly put up her huge magic staff to fend off the hit. The gem on her magic staff shattered with a loud crack, the pieces so small that they were like dust.
“You!” Jalin was furious.
“I what? I’m very angry and do you really think you can fend off my attack with that stick of yours? If Saleen wanted you dead, I would have killed you,” Sika said furiously and pointed her staff at Jalin’s nose.
Jalin’s mask had cracked as well. Sika was true to her word. If she wanted Jalin dead, there was nowhere she could have run to on the soul beast.
“What, Jalin? So you are afraid of the curse of the King of Glory, and you wanted us to share the load with you?” Saleen asked sarcastically. “It’s a given that you have to pay for the damages Daliang City suffered, but not by sharing what you found inside the cemetery. If you don’t want to die, sign a contract with me. Everything you can share with me will be what you use to pay for damages. I don’t want to have anything to do with the cemetery.”
“Dream on! Kill me now if you dare,” Jalin bit her lip.
“Killing you now is hardly a dare. Go home and tell your teacher what you did and stay the hell away from me. If you feel like paying, you will have the chance,” Saleen answered coldly.
“So you’re saying you don’t want the stuff?” Jalin smirked coldly.
“Of course I want the stuff. I can’t kill you for it, but I sure can strip you clean.” Saleen laughed.
Jalin was utterly terrified. She knew what kind of company Saleen kept around him, and there were several who cared little for the consequences of their actions.
If Saleen gave the word, stripping her clean would be done very easily. She regretted coming up to face Saleen. She never thought he would be so brutal and cold.
