Chapter 1790: Golden Primordial Tree

Eerie whispers filled the land, and all of the living creatures of the divine continents raised their heads, their eyes filled with abject terror as they gazed at the end of the horizon. There, a black sun was quietly floating in the air, oozing an inauspicious and unsettling aura. It was as though an apocalyptic devil was silently watching them from above, capable of raining down world-ending destruction.

When Heavenly Emperor Jiang saw it, his expression turned incomparably serious. He could clearly sense that the black sun was filled with the aura of the Origin of Absolute Corruption. An ancient and primordial corrupted aura like this one could not be faked. However, hadn't the Origin of Absolute Corruption been sealed by the Legendary Sect Master?

"That is the Acheronian Sun, and was forged by our Lord, containing its most primal power. It was then placed in the depths of the Acheronian Sea of Corruption, completely unknown to everyone. "Once the Shadow World has conquered the divine continents, our Lord will return," said Sightless Underworld.

"We will put our lives on the line to stop that from happening," responded Heavenly Emperor Jiang.

Sightless Underworld shook its head. "You can certainly sacrifice yourselves, but it is akin to a mantis stopping a chariot. You won't be able to change the outcome in the slightest. After all, you're all merely pathetic cretins."

Once these words were spoken, the Acheronian Sun in the sky began to unleash a sea of stygian flames. The flames turned into billions of streams of black light, creating a spectacular sight. As the flames fell, the Immemorial World Divine Devil Trapping Formation's protective barrier began to shake violently. Soon, holes were melted open, one after another.

Heavenly Emperor Jiang could see that more Grand Devil Kings from the Shadow World were now capable of descending through the holes. If that happened, the Heavenly Emperors of the divine continents would be unable to resist the enemy's overwhelming numbers. He knew that he had to stop Sightless Underworld's ploy immediately. The appearance of the tree left the experts of the Academic Federation shocked, as they could sense familiar energy undulations coming from it. This was a Tree of Resonant Power! However, the energy fluctuations it released far surpassed the trees in the colleges, both in terms of purity, vastness, and age.

"That must be the legendary Mother Tree that stays in the Academic Federation's headquarters. All of the other Trees of Resonant Power are seedlings of that tree!"

Some of the more veteran mentors from the Academic Federation let out emotional sighs as they looked at the tree in reverence. This was because the Academic Federation had produced countless experts by taking advantage of the cultivation benefits brought about by the Tree of Resonant Power. This also included the likes of Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e.

When the magnificent tree appeared, all of the other Trees of Resonant Power throughout the continents emitted beams of light that shot into the sky. Everyone sighed in amazement upon witnessing this spectacular sight.

Immeasurable amounts of energy rushed into the sky, eventually gathering at the Mother Tree and causing a phenomena. The Mother Tree's lush, verdant leaves began to lose their emerald luster, and a golden light started shining at the roots. In the end, the verdant emerald tree turned into a dazzling golden tree!

The transformation surprised the principals of the Academic Federation. At the same time, in the other divine continents, Yan Changsheng, Su Ying, and Wang Taixi could sense a form of resonance with the grand golden tree. Astonished looks filled their faces, as they were familiar with it.

"Is that the Golden Primordial Tree that the Sect Master personally planted all those years ago?"
