The region around Abyssal City had collapsed into a gigantic spatial rift. World's End River water rushed into it as the boundary between worlds was destroyed. It was like a devastating flood, falling from the sky and pouring into the territory protected by the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin.
Everyone's faces had turned pale.
Even Tan Tailan had a grim expression on her face. Qin Jiujie was simply addled in the mind. Did he not know that his actions would bring about great casualties and losses to the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin? The World's End River contained countless Others, and if this Other Disaster broke out within their territory, who knew how many kingdoms and fiefs would be reduced to lands of death?
"It looks like Qin Jiujie has chosen to completely abandon his background as someone from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin." Tan Tailan understood that the Origin Reversion Institute's goal in the World's End River Region was always to cause an Other Disaster to break out in the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent. They had planned to incite it in the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li's territory, but because of Li Jingzhe's stalwart protection, they had failed there.
Thus, the Faceless Other King could only choose to work with Qin Jiujie and plant the festering cancer within the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin.
That said, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin possessed a strong foundation and there were several Kings watching over their territory. Therefore, if an Other Disaster broke out, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin would have the means to limit the damage. However, Tan Tailan could feel that things weren't as simple as they had expected on the surface. The Origin Reversion Institute's schemes definitely ran deeper.
"The Origin Reversion Institute's tentacles have stretched deep. Their traces have also been seen in the Nobles' Battlefield in recent years. They must have an unprecedented plan in mind. Although she didn't hold any goodwill towards the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin and considered them enemies, she had to put aside these grudges for now when faced with the greater threat of the Others.
If the Others were allowed to wreak havoc and the different powers were to be taken down individually, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li wouldn't be able to survive alone. Furthermore, the four Heavenly Emperor powers were all located in the center of the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent, bordering each other.
Thus, Tan Tailan turned her gaze towards Zhu Yuan and Zhao Zong. "Everyone, please follow my lead and destroy the blood bridge. Otherwise, the World's End River will continue to overflow and affect the World's End River Region as well."
The World's End River water was being channeled through the bridge, crossing through the void and flooding the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin's territory.
This action also affected the World's End River Region, and even though it wouldn't cause the entire area to change akin to the Stygian Rain of Calamity, it would still lead to the environment becoming much more dangerous. Its value as a treasure zone would also decrease.
Thus, this was not in the interests of the Heavenly Emperor powers.
The two Kings nodded in agreement.
The three then changed their targets immediately, launching a massive offensive with all their strength. It resembled a world-destroying meteor that caused the entire World's End River Region to shake.
Their majestic attacks filled the eyes of the observers as it arced towards the Blood Bridge.
"They want to destroy the bridge!" Qin Jiujie said.
The Faceless Other King's featureless face was full of cracks as it gloomily said, "We've done what we were supposed to do. This Blood Bridge was created by the will of the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus, so it won't be destroyed that easily. We as the Origin Reversion Institute have already expressed our sincerity by doing this much."
As he spoke, the gigantic eye in the sky was watching everything. Gray light condensed before it, then it shot outwards in a single ray.
The ray of light pierced through space and appeared in front of the Blood Bridge, transforming into a gray stone stele.
Four ancient characters were engraved on the stele.
Kings may not trespass!
These four words seemed as though they were formed when the world was created. They represented an inviolable sort of law that everything in the world had to follow.
When that stone stele appeared, Tan Tailan and the other two could see that the attacks they had made would vanish soundlessly when they approached the bridge.
The combined efforts of the trio disappeared without even causing a ripple. The Blood Bridge quietly stood, funelling the World's End River water into the territory of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin. ṟＡŊ𝘖ＢĚ𝙎
Tan Tailan's sharp gaze was focused on the stone stele, specifically on the four engraved ancient characters.
Meanwhile Zhu Yuan and Zhao Zong's expressions changed. "Heavenly Emperor's Edict!"
The Heavenly Emperor's Edict was a power that belonged to Heavenly Emperors. It was a symbol of their power that condensed their will into a law of heaven and earth. Any existence that was beneath them had to obey it unconditionally. In this case, the law that had been created was that "Kings may not enter." This meant that the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus had decreed that Kings and those with similar powers were unable to extend their reach into the vicinity of the Blood Bridge. This was why their attacks had simply disappeared into thin air. They had been erased out of existence by this law.
It was similar to the Four Heavenly Emperors’ Sealing Talisman that had protected the Treasure Domain. However, in terms of might, it was definitely stronger than the talisman. It wasn't that the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus was stronger than the four Heavenly Emperors, but it had chosen to utilize more will.
Zhao Zong's expression turned ugly. "This is troublesome. The Heavenly Emperor's Edict from the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus will extend its dominion to include the region of the Other Disaster. This also means that the Kings from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin will be unable to take action to purge these vile creatures."
Zhu Yuan sighed and nodded in agreement. If the Kings couldn't act, then it would be much harder to deal with this Other Disaster.
At this point, the gaze of the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus turned dim. In the end, a grayish-white light covered the entire eyeball, making it look like it had been petrified.
It seemed as though it had turned into stone, a gray moon that hung in the gap of the World's End River.
Tan Tailan and the Kings had sensed that the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus had fallen asleep, but nevertheless, its Will hadn't been affected. It flowed across the Blood Bridge, intermingling with the Other Disaster that had fallen upon the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin.
A Heavenly Emperor's Will could provoke changes within the Other Disaster, making it much more ferocious and strange.
Tan Tailan glanced at the gigantic bridge which served as a conduit for the World's End River water into their world. Countless Others surfaced on the river, a truly bone-chilling sight.
She lightly sighed.
From a certain point of view, the Origin Reversion Institute's conspiracy involving the World's End River Region had succeeded. However, this didn't mean that Li Jingzhe's sacrifice was in vain, as his two precious grandchildren, Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e, were saved. If Li Jingzhe had not managed to stop the Human Fetus, then the Faceless Other King would have used Heavenly Dragon City as the nexus for the Other Disaster into the Dragon's Fang Lineage. Thus, the change of events had led the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin to become the biggest loser. Perhaps this was the fortune found within misfortune. The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin bore the brunt of this calamity as one of their own had turned traitor.
That said, the situation had been turned on its head and the Other Disaster was irreversible. Regardless, some enmities had to be repaid.
Intense murderous intent surged in Tan Tailan's eyes as she locked on the Faceless Other King in the spatial rift.
The Faceless Other King was the one who had orchestrated everything that had happened and also held malicious intent towards Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e. Furthermore, it was one of the main perpetrators in Li Jingzhe's fall.
Her gaze didn't go unnoticed by the Faceless Other King. At this point, its face began to twitch and squirm and it transmitted a message. "Qin Jiujie, hurry and run."
It was seriously injured and had become even weaker after causing the changes to Abyssal City.
If it were to face off against Tan Tailan in combat, it would have to pay a horrendous price. Qin Jiujie nodded. The two figures flickered, intent on diving into the depths of the World's End River water.
However, Tan Tailan acted first. She stretched out her hand, locking onto the Faceless Other King. Radiant, silver light flowed around her hand and the space around her twisted. A black hole started to form over her palm.
"Spatial Oblivion Grand Art!" A cold voice rang out, and the Faceless Other King's body stiffened. Soon after, silver runes emerged from the depths of its cracked face. Each and every one of these runes contained vast and tyrannical power, ripping its body apart from within.
The Faceless Other King's body was shredded at a rapid pace. No matter how it circulated energy throughout its body in an attempt to recover, it was all futile.
This was because the silver runes that had appeared in its body were like individual spaces, causing all of its flesh and blood to be divided into different, segregated spaces which were unstable.
The Faceless Other King felt a deep sense of horror as Tan Tailan had actually left spatial imprints all over its body without it knowing. If it had not used so much energy to cause the downfall of Abyssal City, it might have been able to suppress these injuries. Unfortunately... It was a little too much to handle right now. If this was allowed to continue, it would become even weaker and its cultivation level would fall yet again!
"Help me, Qin Jiujie!" it shouted.
Qin Jiujie had similarly discovered the Faceless Other King's predicament, and his gaze flickered. He paused for a moment before stretching his hand out and viciously stabbing his hand into the Faceless Other King's head.
The Faceless Other King let out a pitiful roar. "What are you doing, Qin Jiujie!?"
Qin Jiujie's hand seemed to be fishing around its head before he pulled out his hand, only to see two bloody pieces of squirming facial skin. If they had eyes, these two facial skins would have been staring at Qin Jiujie with poisonous hatred.
"Are these your two natal facial skins? I can escape with them on your behalf. Your body has Tan Tailan's imprint, so it wouldn't be wise to bring it along."
Qin Jiujie's gaze was filled with sinister intentions. Now that the Faceless Other King had lost its body, it would be grievously crippled and he would have many ways to deal with the two remnant natal facial skins.
"Faceless, you’re far weaker than I imagined. It seems that you've only ever been bragging."
Qin Jiujie's lips curled up into a mysterious smile.
"Furthermore... I feel that the ‘Origin Reversion Institute's Thirteen Other Kings’ is a nicer sounding title."
With that, he tightly clutched the two facial skins and directly leaped into the depths of the World's End River. The raging water surged and he vanished, completely submerged.
