Chapter 0961: Purifying Spirit Resonance Golden Dew
Chapter 0961: Purifying Spirit Resonance Golden Dew
Before long, the hard work of Li Luo and Li Lingjing garnered a total of sixty droplets of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew.
However, something interesting occurred in the midst of all this. Li Luo was experimenting with the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew and his Acquired Resonance Flame. He wanted to see what would happen if the two were used together.
What caused him to be extremely surprised was that the Acquired Resonance Flame could refine the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew and purify it! In an attempt to see how far he could go, he added droplet after droplet of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew into the flame until he finally obtained a golden crystal the size of a baby's thumb.
When the golden crystal landed in Li Luo's hand, it melted into a stream of pure energy just before he was able to inspect it, then it entered his body.
The mysterious energy caused his three resonant palaces to tremble. And his resonances, which usually sat quietly within them, suddenly attempted to break out of the resonant palaces so they could devour that mysterious energy!
Clearly, the golden crystal created from the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew was of great use in improving one's resonance.
After hesitating for a moment, Li Luo then directed the energy into his Thunder Dragon resonance. It was the weakest amongst the three, a lower seventh-grade, and his aim was to raise all of his resonances to the eighth-grade by the end of this expedition.
After the energy was absorbed by the Thunder Dragon resonance, the resonant power within it seemed to have become much more refined. When the process was over, draconic cries and thunderous booms resounded throughout the palace.
The effect of the crystal was equivalent to refining an eighth-grade spirit liquid or purifying light.
This caused Li Luo to feel a little taken aback. One had to understand that a single eighth-grade spirit liquid or purifying light would cost several million skygold. Even though he had obtained the salary of the Main Hall Master of the Green Nether Hall, using such pricey spirit liquids and purifying lights would cause him to feel a hint of heartache at the sheer cost. Who would’ve guessed that the golden crystals could also provide such a wondrous effect?
"The Spiritual Resonance Cave is truly a top tier secret realm. I can't comprehend how the Sacred Void Resonance Sect actually managed to construct it." Li Luo was deeply amazed. Of course, he similarly understood that the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew did not have such good effects on its own—it only reached its full potential with the assistance of the Acquired Resonance Flame.
It seemed as though the Acquired Resonance Godly Forging Art was exceptional even within the Sacred Void Resonance Sect.
Li Luo's mind started to race, and he suddenly thought of something. Peering into the jade bottle used to contain the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew, he realized that the only thing he could see was its cold, empty bottom.
Lost in his curiosity, he had exhausted the entire stock of his hard-earned dew in the purification process.
"I've squandered all my efforts from the last few days..." Li Luo sighed helplessly. It looked like he would have to redouble his efforts to gather more Spirit Resonance Golden Dew.
As he sighed, he felt a trace of resonant power undulations from the forest in front of him. At the same time, he heard something resembling a cry for help.
"Cousin Lingjing?" Li Luo was slightly shocked. Li Lingjing had scouted the area earlier, so it should’ve been safe.
When he made his way over to investigate, he saw several miserable figures sprawled out on the forest floor. Shortly after, Li Lingjing sauntered out with a bamboo pole in her hand.
"Cousin Li Luo, it seems like they have something important to say." Li Lingjing grinned slightly as she spoke to Li Luo.
Li Luo cautiously stepped over as he inspected the bloodied group of individuals. Based on their dressing, they definitely seemed to belong to a group of vicious rogue cultivators. They had likely spotted Li Lingjing all alone and wanted to rob her. Alas, they had ended up kicking a steel plate.
"Please, ma’am! We were wrong. Just treat us like farts in the wind and let us go!" The rogue cultivators were now kneeling and begging for mercy.
They had been dancing along the edge of a knife for as long as they could remember. Thus, kneeling and giving in was just one of their numerous methods to survive.
Li Lingjing stood prettily before them, one hand on her waist whilst the other held the bamboo pole that was now resting on her shoulder. She grinned happily. "Stop with the crap. What is the secretive news that is worth as much as your little lives?"
She waved the green bamboo pole and lightly tapped one of the rogue cultivators' heads. "Remember, you only have one chance! If I feel that the information isn't worth my time, you can't blame me for ending you."
Listening to her cheery tone, the rogue cultivators felt a chill run down their spines. When they had attacked her just a while ago, they experienced for themselves how cruel and ruthless this seemingly weak and beautiful lady in front of them was. Three of their brothers had been struck so hard on their heads by the bamboo pole that their blood and brain matter was mixed into one.
Thus, they did not dare to tell any lies. After pausing for a moment, they replied, "We heard that in the southwestern direction, deep within the mountains, there lies a massive, gilded hall. Numerous droplets of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew condense once someone enters it, and it also seems like no Guardian Spirits appear."
"No Guardian Spirits?" Li Luo was a little taken aback before he asked suspiciously, "Wouldn't all the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew have already been taken away? What's the point of going over now."
"How could it be taken away so easily?" The rogue cultivators hurriedly shook their heads. "Although there are no Guardian Spirits, it's said that there are people protecting it. Many people have approached the gilded hall, only to be cut down."
"There are people defending it?" Both Li Luo and Li Lingjing were surprised by this fact. ?"Who are they? Other than us explorers, who else could it be?"
The rogue cultivators halted for a moment before replying, "Well, it seems like they aren't real people. We don't really know either. All I've heard is that they don't seem like Guardian Spirits. Instead, they are almost no different from sentient humans, and they can even use resonance arts. Many people have been attracted by these rumors, as being able to obtain the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew from within the gilded hall would easily give them enough dew to activate the Resonant Talismans and enter the Golden Dew Platform. Although this piece of news is not an absolute secret, it is absolutely true! I would never dare to deceive you!"
Li Luo's eyes showed a look of contemplation. He had been searching hard for the last couple of days, but his efforts had not borne much fruit. Clearly, specific locations were required to produce significant amounts of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew, and the gilded hall might very well be the sort of place he was looking for.
This was a little different when compared to the forest that the Dragon's Blood Lineage had set up. That was something man-made, while the gilded hall was at least not created by the people of today.
"This information doesn't seem bad. We can go and take a look," Li Luo said to Li Lingjing. He had squandered away all of their droplets of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew, and if the gilded hall truly did have as much as the rogue cultivators claimed, he could replenish their stock and perhaps the excess could even be purified.
Li Lingjing then stowed away the bamboo pole and said, "You're quite the honest bunch. Go. Live a little more decently and upright. Licking blood off the edge of a knife will inevitably lead to an accident."
The group hurriedly nodded before dashing away into the distance. Clearly, they had been absolutely frightened by her.
"What did you do to them? They're terrified!" Li Luo grinned as he glanced into the depths of the forest.
Li Lingjing didn't reply but grinned as she tugged at Li Luo's sleeve, leading him in another direction.
"Let's go. We have to go to this gilded hall and take a look. It should be a bustling location," she said with a hint of anticipation.
Her mood wasn't the best today, and as a result, her blows had been heavy-handed when faced with those rude and foul rogue cultivators. As a result, blood stained the forest. Those individuals weren't saints. If she were just a normal girl, falling into their hands might very possibly have led to a life worse than death. Thus, Li Lingjing didn't feel any remorse in killing a few of them.
Li Luo smiled and nodded in agreement, letting her lead him along. He wasn't some sanctimonious saint either. Those rogue cultivators had bad intentions, and they had reaped what they sowed. Still, Li Lingjing's actions were a little brutal, and he was concerned the Soul Eater True Devil might have some remnant influence left in her.
As the two soared into the air, they shot away at breakneck speed.
Shortly after they left, a shadowy figure appeared within the bloody forest. He stepped on the sticky pools of blood, and a pair of squirming pupils emotionlessly took in the grisly sight.
His pupils continued to wriggle, eventually transforming into two worms that tunneled out of his eyeballs, seemingly basking in the foul air.
A moment later, a hair-raising smile surfaced on his emotionless face.
"Number Three.... I am Number Two. I want... to devour you."
A bout of stiff, cold, and hoarse laughter echoed out in the middle of the sanguine forest.
