Chapter 41 - 41 Crime Scene
41 Crime Scene
“Is there a case?” Feng Jing asked when she saw Yin Tao’s grave expression.
“Hmm, Wen An District, case of a mutilated body.”
After Yin Tao finished speaking, she heard Feng Jing say to Lin Jia, “Get out of the car. Are you going to the crime scene too?”
Lin Jia got out of the car unwillingly and said to Yin Tao with a smile, “Little Sister Xiaotao, go ahead and do your work. Let’s have a meal together another day.”
Nodding her head, Yin Tao got into the passenger seat and the car sped away. Lin Jia was left sighing helplessly on the spot. It seemed that it wasn’t that easy to chase after Yin Tao.
Feng Jing also received a call from Captain Chen on the way. From his description, the case was indeed very complicated. It might involve many victims. Feng Jing sped all the way and soon arrived at Wen An District.
There were already many police officers in the neighborhood. The moment Yin Tao got out of the car, she saw Xia Jin investigating the situation with the nearby residents.
“Xia Jin!” Yin Tao walked forward and greeted Xia Jin.
“Sister Xiaotao, Captain Feng.” Xia Jin was a little surprised to see Yin Tao and Feng Jing walking over together. He thought for a moment and said to them, “Captain Chen and Dr. Su are upstairs. You guys should go up and take a look. The case seems to be a little tricky.”
Not wanting to delay any further, Yin Tao didn’t say anything more to Xia Jin and walked up to the seventh floor with Feng Jing.
“Master.” Yin Tao changed her gloves and walked towards Su Ning. “These body parts and limbs don’t belong to the same deceased?”
Su Ning only took a look and realized the problem. The degree of decay of the body parts was very different, and the form of the limbs did not belong to the same person at all.
Su Ning’s expression was very solemn. He stood up and said to Yin Tao, “We’ve found no less than eight victims’ limbs for now.”
“Eight!” Although Yin Tao was already mentally prepared, she was still shocked. Yin Tao knew that there were some seriously decomposed body parts that required DNA comparison to confirm if they belonged to the same victim. Therefore, for Su Ning to be able to come to such a conclusion, it could at least prove that there were more than eight victims.
“Captain Feng, I didn’t want to trouble you to come.” Captain Chen was a little apologetic to Feng Jing. He had only just arrived at City A and so many murder cases had happened. And before he could make any sense of those cases, such a gruesome murder had been committed.
“I’m also a police officer. This is my duty. Captain Chen, please don’t feel bad.” Feng Jing also started to inspect the scene, however the murderer was very cautious and left almost no obvious clues.
“The landlord reported that he couldn’t contact the tenant, so he came to check.” Captain Chen explained the case to Feng Jing. “The landlord came to collect the rent. The moment he opened the door, he smelled a strange odor in the room.”
Captain Chen pointed at the big white bucket under the window. “Then he found this plastic bucket full of body parts and broken limbs. The landlord was very shaken when he reported the case. He must have been terrified”
Feng Jing looked at the plastic bucket. It was very big and deep. If it was filled with body parts, the scene would be very bloody. The forensic doctors were now examining the body parts in the bucket.
Feng Jing asked Yin Tao and Su Ning, who were dealing with the broken limbs, “Did you find anything noteworthy?”
Su Ning sighed softly and replied to Feng Jing, “It’s not good. This case is too complicated. The body parts and limbs do not belong to the same body. Even the internal organs don’t seem to belong to the same person.”
Yin Tao put the damaged tissues into an evidence bag and said to Feng Jing, “There should be more than eight victims. I found that these broken toes and fingers don’t belong to the same person either.”
After Yin Tao finished speaking, Su Ning and Feng Jing looked at the evidence bag in her hand at the same time. Yin Tao continued, “The degree of decomposition of these brain tissues and internal organs is also different. I feel that the number of victims would be shocking.”
Yin Tao roughly estimated that the number of victims must be more than ten, and there were also many indistinguishable body parts. She couldn’t be sure if they belonged to different people.
Feng Jing frowned slightly and asked Captain Chen, “Did you identify the tenant of this room?”
“The tenant’s name is Sun Peng, 36 years old and unemployed. He’s currently uncontactable.” Captain Chen also felt very helpless. He explained to Feng Jing, “We’ve already started investigating the tenant, Sun Peng, and the landlord. However, Sun Peng has been missing for more than one month. He’s now the number one suspect.”
Yin Tao was still collecting the body tissues on the ground. When she heard Captain Chen’s words, she couldn’t help but interrupt, “Sun Peng might be the victim. When we run the tests at the police station, we might find Sun Peng among the corpses.”
